NHS Child Dental Appointments

As many of you know, there has been a significant shortage of NHS dental services in our area, especially for children. To help address this issue, Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE, part of the Dental School) has launched a program offering NHS dental appointments for children at selected primary schools across Plymouth.

Rob Nelder, Public Health Consultant, said: “This scheme has come about

thanks in part to the work of our Plymouth Dental Taskforce, which was created last year and brings together key partners in dentistry, cross-party councillors and our local MPs to help tackle the NHS dental crisis in the city.

“As a group, we’ve agreed three key priorities that we will be working towards and will be exploring new initiatives such as this one to help more people across the city access dental healthcare.”
