Tone!
This term we have been looking at tone in art. We have learnt how to use different pencils to create tone and we learnt that adding black or white paint to a colour can change the tone. We have been practising drawing and painting objects using tone.
Science!
We have been looking at microhabitats this half term. We went outside to find things that were dead, alive or never been alive and sorted them into groups. We then explored the environmental area and found microhabitats. We came and wrote about our findings.
Park Equipment
In DT, we have been designing and making our very own piece of park equipment. We visited our local park and then came back with some great ideas for our very own designs! We practised joins that we learnt such as an l-brace and a flange join and then used them in our own designs. Here we are busy making our products!
Scrumptious Sandwiches!
In Science, we have been learning about healthy eating. Last week, we sorted foods into the correct sections of a lunchbox and drew our own healthy lunch. Today, we used our learning about healthy foods and eating a balanced diet to create a healthy sandwich. We had to pick a protein choice from ham or cheese. We used wholemeal bread and added salad to make sure it was a healthy sandwich.
